General Return Policy

 
If you are not satisfied with your Stein Mart purchase return it with a valid receipt within 30 days and we will issue a cash refund, a Stein Mart e-credit or credit your charge account, depending on your method of payment, for the purchase price.
 
Return your purchase with a valid receipt after 30 days and you can receive an exchange, credit or refund, depending on your method of payment, for the current selling price.
 
There is a 10 day waiting period for any refund on purchases made with a check.
 
If you do not have a receipt, a Stein Mart e-credit will be issued for the current selling price.
 
For your protection we will ask you for valid identification to issue any refund on any returns not accompanied by a receipt.
 
Price adjustments will not be made on previously purchased, permanently reduced or clearance merchandise.

Can I get a cash refund?

We'll give you a cash refund for the purchase price when you return merchandise within 30 days of cash purchase, with a valid receipt.

I paid with a check. How do I make a return?

There is a 10-day refund waiting period for all purchases. After this period you can receive a cash refund when you return merchandise with a valid receipt and a current driver's license within 30 days of purchase.

Can Stein Mart credit my charge account?

Absolutely! Within 30 days of purchase just bring your credit card accompanied by a valid receipt and we will credit your account immediately.

I received a gift and I don't have a receipt.

Generally Stein Mart should be able to help you make an alternative merchandise selection if the item you are returning is still in stock and in new condition. We may also issue an e-credit after verifying your valid ID.
